Abstract

This study aims to identify the impact of good governance on the growth, inequality, and poverty triangle in Arab countries. and in order to do so, a structural model with simultaneous equations was developed, as the study covered the period from 1996 to 2016. The three-stage least squares method was used to estimate the model. Based on Stata 15 outputs, it was determined that the good governance indicators of corruption control, and participation and accountability have a negative and direct effects on the prevalence of poverty, whereas the other indicators of government effectiveness, political stability, regulatory quality, and the rule of law affect the poverty rate indirectly through economic growth. The study also discovered a statistically significant negative relationship between the economic growth and the income inequalities.
