AL-MUTARĞIM المترجم (The Translator) is an international, biannual, double blind peer-reviewed, free of charge, and open-access journal published in both online and print versions by the laboratory: « Didactics of Translation and Multilingualism », which is affiliated to the Institute of Translation, University of Oran1 Ahmed BEN BELLA - ALGERIA. AL-MUTARĞIM only carries original and unpublished articles in Arabic, English, and French that reflect the latest research and developments in the fields of Translation studies, Terminology, Interpreting, Didactics of Translation, Didactics of languages, Languages Studies, and Cultures. AL-MUTARĞIM targets postgraduate students, professors and all researchers around the world within the framework of its specialization in order to exchange researches and results. AL-MUTARĞIM also aims to complement, strengthen and transform the vision of translation. All papers are welcomed and can be sent after the call for contributions.

les enjeux culturels de la traduction audio-visuelle

Résumé: Bien que la question de traduire la culture ait toujours intrigué les traducteurs et traductologues, elle devient plus influente dans la traduction audiovisuelle, car le spectateur dispose, non seulement de la version originale en bande-son, mais aussi d'une représentation visuelle de la situation, ce qui lui permet facilement de faire une comparaison et de juger de l'efficacité de la traduction. Ainsi, la mission du traducteur de l'audiovisuel devient alors plus délicate. Pour cerner cette problématique il est sans doute nécessaire de poser les questions suivantes : • Quels sont les enjeux culturels liés à la TAV ? • Comment gérer cet envahissement culturel causé par les différents types de TAV entre autres le sous-titrage ? • Comment peut-on conserver notre culture et la protéger tout en s’ouvrant sur l’autre et tirer le meilleur de son expérience traductive et culturelle ? Sachant que la difficulté de traduire le culturel réside souvent dans la résistance de la culture cible face à la culture source, réussir à répondre aux exigences de la culture source et aux attentes de celle de l’arrivée est très rare spécialement dans la traduction audiovisuelle(TAV) où les textes traduits s'inscrivent dans des genres et dans des discours très particuliers Afin de cerner l’importance culturelle de la TAV, il convient d’opter pour une approche pluridisciplinaire conjuguant la traductologie, la sociologie, les sciences de la communication, les études littéraire et les études filmiques et cinématographiques. La traduction audiovisuelle avait pour problématique pivot : comment dépasser les barrières linguistique dans le domaine de l’audiovisuel ? Quel mode de traduction adopter face à une œuvre filmique portant une intense charge culturelle? L’objectif de notre étude est de cerner les différents aspects de la traduction audiovisuelle, ainsi que le rôle de la censure et son impact sur l’aspect culturel de l’œuvre filmique originale.

المقاربات المعرفية وتعليمية الترجمة - قراءة نظرية

الملخص: تعد الترجمة إحدى أهم التخصصات بالجامعات، تبنتها المؤسسة الجامعية لما لها من أهمية بالغة ودور فعّال في مد جسور المعرفة وترقية التفاعل والتواصل بين الشعوب. إنها من أعقد وأروع وسائل الاتصال والتعبير والاتفاق على الإطلاق. فهي عملية معقدة تحتاج إلى التفكير المنظم، والتنظيم الجيّد والكفاءات اللغوية المتنوعة وغيرها من المهارات التي تتطلب تكييفا خاصا لبرامج التدريس من أجل تحقيق النماء. والنظريات المعرفية توفر مقاربات منهجية تسهم في تعزيز استراتيجيات التعلّم واكتساب المعرفة، وينطبق ذلك على مجال تعليمية الترجمة شأنها شأن أي ممارسة بيداغوجية تسعى إلى تحقيق الأهداف المرجوة من العملية التعليمية. لذلك ارتأينا، من وجهة نظر منهجية، تسليط الضوء على مدى افادة تعليمية الترجمة من المقاربات المعرفية في جميع مراحل الترجمة بدءا من القراءة، وإعادة الصياغة فالمراجعة، من أجل تحقيق تطوير برامج الترجمة وتعليمها. وعلى هذا الأساس، نحاول الإجابة من خلال هذه الدراسة على جملة من التساؤلات نصيغها في الإشكالية الموالية: ما الذي توفره النظريات المعرفية من مقاربات منهجية تسهم في تعزيز استراتيجيات التعلم واكتساب المعرفة؟ وهل ينطبق ذلك على مجال تعليمية الترجمة ؟ وكيف تستفيد العملية التعليمية من المقاربات المعرفية في مراحل تدريس طالب الترجمة؟

Zur Vermittlung der Fertigkeit Sprechen im DaF-Unterricht

الملخص: Abstract Beim Kommunizieren im DaF-Unterricht kommt der Sprechfertigkeit eine grundlegende Bedeutung zu. Ferner ist eine Kommunikation im Studium ohne Fertigkeit Sprechen kaum vorstellbar. Vor diesem Hintergrund wird angestrebt, die Vermittlung der Fertigkeit Sprechen im fremdsprachigen Deutschunterricht näher zu betrachten. Hierbei wird die Vermittlung des Sprechens aus verschiedenen Blickwinkeln beleuchtet. Es geht u.a. um die Mängel und Störungen bei der Sprechfertigkeit. Inhalte und allgemeine Voraussetzungen sowie Vorgehensweisen bei der Vermittlung der Fertigkeit Sprechen werden darüber hinaus näher beleuchtet. Dieser Artikel soll einen Einblick in die Vermittlung des Sprechens liefern und somit einen Beitrag zur Didaktik des Sprechens im fremdsprachigen Deutschunterricht leisten. Abstract Speaking skills are of fundamental importance when communicating in German as a foreign language. Furthermore, communication in studies is hardly conceivable without speaking skills. Against this background, the aim is to take a closer look at the teaching of speaking skills in German as a foreign language. The teaching of speaking will be examined from various perspectives. Among other things, it is about the deficiencies and disturbances in speaking skills. Contents and general prerequisites as well as procedures for teaching the skill of speaking are also examined in more detail. This article is intended to provide an insight into the teaching of speaking and thus contribute to the didactics of speaking in foreign-language German lessons. الملخص مهارات التحدث لها أهمية أساسية عند التواصل باللغة الألمانية كلغة أجنبية. علاوة على ذلك ، لا يمكن تصور التواصل في الدراسات بدون مهارات التحدث. على هذه الخلفية ، فإن الهدف هو إلقاء نظرة فاحصة على تدريس مهارات التحدث باللغة الألمانية كلغة أجنبية. سيتم فحص تدريس التحدث من وجهات نظر مختلفة. من بين أمور أخرى ، يتعلق الأمر بأوجه القصور والاضطرابات في مهارات التحدث. يتم أيضًا فحص المحتويات والمتطلبات العامة بالإضافة إلى إجراءات تدريس مهارة التحدث بمزيد من التفصيل. تهدف هذه المقالة إلى تقديم نظرة ثاقبة لتدريس التحدث وبالتالي المساهمة في تعليم التحدث في دروس اللغة الألمانية.

Algeria Language policies Chronology Since the Independence up to the influence of English in the the 21st Century.

Résumé: This paper sheds light on the query of French language in Algeria and its status, and explains about the language policies of Arabisation since the independence. It envisages about the rise of the English in the Algerian society. Despite the fixative laws regarding the use of the Arabic in all institutions, the landscape seemed impotent regarding French, as it pertained as the symbol of science. However, by the beginning of 2019, the people showed a strong wish to the spread of English instead of French. Moreover, the government applied new language policies regarding this latter which aids and fasten the spread of English. This paper conveys to the future readers and researchers precise factual chronology of how English became a rival to French for the first time since the independence.

Kultur und Interkulturalität im DaF-Unterricht

Résumé: In Zeiten der Globalisierung ist es nicht nur im Berufsleben, sondern auch im Alltag wichtig, sich interkulturelle Kompetenz als Schlüsselqualifikation anzueignen, denn die interkulturellen Begegnungen lassen sich nicht vermeiden. Aufgrund der zunehmenden Vernetzung der Länder und des Kontakts der Menschen miteinander, werden die kulturellen Unterschiede immer sichtbar. Demzufolge wird die Notwendigkeit eines Bewusstseins über diese kulturellen Verschiedenheiten und auch Gemeinsamkeiten immer mehr bedeutsamer. Das Thema Fremdwahrnehmung, Fremdbilder und Stereotypen stellt ein relevantes Element im Germanistikunterricht dar, da die Wissensvermittlung in den verschiedenen Fächern überwiegend interkulturell erfolgt. Insofern ist die Interkulturalität an der Universität nicht mehr wegzudenken. Dessen ungeachtet bereitet der Umgang mit diesem Thema den Studierenden Schwierigkeiten.

Die Schöpfungskraft des Übersetzers bei der Vermeidung von Übersetzungsfehlern

Résumé: Zusammen mit dem Begriff „Übersetzung“ wird oft die Eigenschaft Kreativität verknüpft. Wer ist der Übersetzer? Und warum kann er mit dem Wort Schöpfer bezeichnet werden? Diese Fragen sollten in dieser Forschung beantwortet werden, um die Tätigkeit eines Übersetzers näher zu charakterisieren und definieren. Der Schwerpunkt der Übersetzungsarbeit liegt nicht in dem Begabungsmaß, sondern eher in seiner Spezifität. Der Übersetzer ist weniger und mehr als ein Schriftsteller. „Weniger“ bedeutet, dass seine Kunst sekundär ist und „mehr“ bedeutet, da er sich mit allen Schriftstellern, die er übersetzt, ausgleichen muss. Er muss selber das erkennen, was die Schriftsteller erkannt haben, er muss das analytische Denken mit der künstlerischen bzw. schöpferischen Fähigkeit verknüpfen, nach den im Vorausgesetzten Regeln gestalten und die Originaltexte in die neuen Kontexte bringen. Die Übersetzung ist eigentlich ein Versuch um eine neue Lösung des Originalwerkes, um die Entdeckung einer neuen Form des Werkes und seine neue Deutung, die von der Gattung abhängig ist.

الملخص: تتناول هذه الدراسة موضوع معايير جودة التكوين الجامعي ومدى الالتزام بها في المدرسة العليا للتراجمة والمترجمين بباريس ESIT، وهذا من خلال استقراء عروض التكوين التي تقترحها، وذلك بالاعتماد على التحليل والملاحظة. ومن هنا تهدف الدراسة الحالية إلى معرفة طبيعة التكوين الذي تقدمه مدرسة ESIT وفيما إذا كان تكوينا معرفيا ومهاراتيا متكاملا أو تكوينا كلاسيكيا، بالإضافة إلى رصد أهم المؤشرات الدالة على التزام المدرسة بمعايير الجودة في برامجها واستمرارها في ذلك. واتبعنا في انجاز هذه الدراسة على المنهج الاستقرائي التحليلي فقمنا بمعظم خطواته انطلاقا من تحديد الإشكالية ثم وضع الفرضيات وصولا إلى استقراء عناصر عروض التكوين في ESIT. وتوصلنا إلى جملة من النتائج أهمها: أن مدرسة ESIT تلتزم بمعايير الجودة في إعداد برامجها التكوينية وتحرص على تقييمها وتطويرها دوريا كآلية لتحسينها وتحديثها.

Zum Problem des literarischen Kanons im interkulturellen DaF- Unterricht

Résumé: Tout le monde s'accorde à dire que la littérature est une partie intégrante de l'enseignement de l'allemand comme langue étrangère. La présente contribution tente de discuter de manière critique quelques réflexions sur le canon littéraire dans l'enseignement de l'allemand comme langue étrangère en Algérie et les problèmes qui y sont liés. En partant de la recherche sur les canons, quelques problèmes sont mis en évidence. L'une des plus grandes lacunes dans l'enseignement universitaire en Algérie est la formation littéraire. La littérature est instrumentalisée et ne sert plus qu'à l'enseignement de la grammaire et du vocabulaire. L'une des tâches les plus importantes et les plus urgentes de l'enseignement des langues étrangères est, à mon avis, d'initier les apprenants à la lecture de la littérature écrite, car le livre est relégué au second plan en raison de l'évolution rapide de l'offre médiatique.

إشكالية توظيف اللغة العامية بالنقحرة في ترجمة خدمات 'الانترنت' و'الهاتف النقال' (شركة اتصالات الجزائر أنموذجا)

الملخص: مع اكتساح الانترنت لواقعنا اليومي واعتماد الفرد عليها في أغلب جوانب الحياة، أصبحت المنافسة كبيرة في مجال سوق الاتصالات، حيث تسعى الشركات المنتجة لهذه الخدمة لتكثيف وتحسين منتجها كي يصل إلى أكبر عدد من المستهلكين. و لتحقيق هذه الغاية لجأت العديد من الشركات الناشطة في هذا المجال على غرار اتصالات الجزائر الى استعمال اللغة العامية للتقرب من مختلف شرائح المجتمع باختلاف مستوياتهم التعليمية، و لكن كيف يتعامل المترجم مع اللغة العامية المنطوقة مجسدة في قالب لغة أجنبية فيما يسمى بالنقحرة Translitération ؟ هل ثمة استراتيجيات وتقنيات أو مقاربات نظرية تسمح له بالحفاظ على خصوصيات النص الأصلي ومنها توظيف اللغة العامية؟ هل ثمة صعوبات لغوية أو أسلوبية أو ثقافية في نقل اللغة العامية العربية إلى اللغة الأجنبية؟ وهل يتوجب على المترجم فعل ذلك؟ حاولنا الإجابة على هذه الأسئلة من خلال تحليل مدونة تضمنت بعض من نماذج توظيف اللغة العامية في رسائل شركة اتصالات الجزائر" الموجه للمستهلكين. كما نهدف من خلال هذه الدراسة الى تسليط الضوء على نوعية الترجمة باللغة العربية العامية في المجال الاشهاري والدور التواصلي والاقتصادي الذي تلعبه. With the Internet far-reaching our daily life and the individual’s dependence on it in most aspects, competition has become great in the field of telecommunicational markets ,in fact companies who produce this service seek to intensify and improve their product in order to reach the largest number of consumers, such as “Algérie Telecom” that resorted to using the colloquial language to approach the various individuals of the society at different levels of instruction. Are there particular strategies , techniques or theoretical approaches that allow the translator to preserve the characteristics of the original text among the use of colloquial language? Should the translator do that? Are there any linguistic ,stylistic or cultural difficulties in transferring colloquial Arabic to foreign languages? We tried to answer these questions by analyzing some examples illustrating the use of colloquial language, “AlgérieTelecom” embodied in messages addressed to consumers. We also aim through this study to shed light on the main features of colloquial Arabic translation in the advertising field and the communicative and economic role it plays.

Challenges of Semantic Shift in Translating Classical Arabic Texts into English, extracts from Yaakubi’s book “AL-BULDAN” as a case study

Résumé: This study aims to examine semantic shift in classical Arabic texts and the challenges it poses for translators; it also tests the ability of machine translation to detect and render semantic shift from Arabic to English. The study employs Yaakobi’s book “Al-Buldan” as source text to spot semantic shift in professions and names of geographical places in the part related to Mid-Maghreb or present day Algeria. Not only does semantic shift pose challenges for machine translation and translators in general, but it might also undermine research and reduce opportunities of establishing facts for historians and linguists, hence the need to establish laboratories where linguists, translators, historians, stakeholders and researchers collaborate to study and translate ancient Arabic texts.

Gestes emblèmes pédagogiques, quelle morphologie pour la compréhension de l'oral de fle?

Résumé: Dans cette contribution, nous présentons une analyse des gestes emblématiques d’une enseignante lors d’une activité de compréhension de l’oral en classe de 5année primaire de FLE. Notons que nous avons retenu spécifiquement les gestes emblématiques à dimension principalement pédagogique pour cette étude. L’objectif est double, d’une part il s’agit de relever les emblèmes pédagogiques, de proposer une catégorisation adéquate avec notre corpus et les classer selon leurs morphologies. Et d’autre part réfléchir à ce que pourrait contenir un code commun. A cet effet, nous avons opté pour une approche empirico-déductive qui s’inscrit dans une démarche ethnographique afin de collecter les données fiables dans un milieu naturel. En recourant à la méthode qualitative, l’analyse des données indique que les gestes emblèmes issus de la production gestuelle intra-individuelle de l’enseignante filmée sont généralement co-verbaux, multimodaux, multifonctionnels, polysémiques et conventionnels au sein de la classe de fle.

Hörverständnis im DaF- Unterricht und Ausspracheschwierigkeiten bei algerischen Germanisten

Résumé: Obwohl die algerischen Germanisten in einem arabischsprachigen Umfeld leben, könnte dies dazu führen, dass sie sich mit den beiden Sprachsystemen, dem der Muttersprache und dem der Zielsprache, auseinandersetzen, denn das Erlernen einer Fremdsprache ist das Erlernen einer neuen Kultur, Lebensweise und Art des Denkens. Die Sprachwahrnehmung durch das Hören ist eine Grundvoraussetzung für den Erwerb und das Lernen einer Sprache. Aus diesem Grund ist es wichtig zu beschreiben, welche Hörmöglichkeiten im Sprachunterricht für algerische Studenten eingesetzt werden können. Ziel dieses Artikels ist es, die Rolle des Hörverstehens im Deutschunterricht im Allgemeinen aufzuzeigen. Die Befragung konzentriert sich daher auf die Schwierigkeiten von Deutschlernenden beim Hören von Texten in der Zielsprache. Um die Grenzen der Lernenden zu respektieren und ihnen ihre eigene Kultur und die der anderen bewusst zu machen, muss der Lehrer sehr aufmerksam sein, Sensibilität gegenüber seinen Lernenden zeigen, ihnen zivilisatorische Ideen vermitteln und ihnen helfen, kulturelle Unterschiede zu akzeptieren.

El booktuber como recurso didáctica para el desarrollo de la competencia literaria en el aula de ELE

Résumé: Resumen Este estudio presenta una experiencia sobre el uso de las nuevas tecnologías en general, y el uso del booktuber en particular, en el desarrollo de la competencia literaria, con estudiantes universitarios. El objetivo principal del trabajo es el demostrar que aporta el uso de las Tics como ventajas en nuestras aulas. primero, se aborda el marco teórico, en el que presentamos definiciones de diferentes conceptos relacionados con nuestro tema, entre ellos, la competencia literaria, el booktube, que son el núcleo de nuestra investigación. Después, realizamos una práctica con un grupo de estudiantes para conseguir nuestro objetivo, que es desarrollar y motivar a nuestros estudiantes hacia la literatura. ABSTRACT: This study presents a pedagogical experience on the use of new technologies in general, and the use of the booktuber in particular, in the development of literary competence, with university students. The main objective of the work is to demonstrate that the use of Tics contributes as advantages in our classrooms. First, the theoretical framework is addressed, in which we present definitions of different concepts related to our topic, among them, literary competence, the booktube, which are the core of our research. Afterwards, we carry out an internship with a group of students to achieve our objective, which is to develop and motivate our students towards literature.

Environmental Social Pedagogy: A Semantic Illustration from Paris Transport (RATP) Spaces’ Posters

Résumé: Pedagogy is frequently an in-classroom practice that infers a methodical teaching to permit homogenous learning. This concept can be visualized in out-classroom environments targeting society. The present work, being qualitative in nature, aims at understanding the applicable version of the theory of social pedagogy in RATP spaces in Paris, France. It hypothesizes that man-made environment represents this pedagogy. Ten slogans posted in RATP spaces were examined and semantically analyzed according to Leech’s heptane semantic classification. The findings of the study extract different forms of social pedagogy and confirm the stated hypothesis; they importantly highlight ‘semanticity’ in the pedagogical discourse of environment.

المطالعة والترجمة: أيُّ وضعٍ؟ وأيّةُ علاقةٍ؟، Reading and Translation: What State? And What relationship?

الملخص: إن أهم ما يساعد على تحسين القدرة التحريرية لدى الفرد عموما، وطالب العلم خصوصا، هي تلك القراءة اليقظة المنتظمة، ويمكن اعتبار تمرين الترجمة أحد طرق قياس هذه القدرة التحريرية لكونها شكلا من أشكال الكتابة، وعليه فإن للمطالعة تأثيراً على الترجمة. تهدف الدراسة الحالية إلى تحديد علاقة الترجمة بالمطالعة، وكذا النظر في مدى اهتمام تلاميذ شعبة اللغات الأجنبية بالمطالعة باللغة الإنجليزية، ومدى قدرتهم على نقل نص من العربية إلى الإنجليزية، دون دراسة مسبقة للترجمة واستراتيجياتها. جرت هذه الدراسة على 42 تلميذا من ثلاث ثانويات مختلفة يدرسون في السنة الثالثة شعبة اللغات الأجنبية، حيث طُلب منهم الإجابة عن استبانة الدراسة التي تهدف لجمع معلومات عن مطالعتهم باللغة الإنجليزية، ثم عُرض على أفراد الدراسة ذاتهم نص للترجمة من اللغة العربية إلى اللغة الإنجليزية لتُقيّم لاحقا. عُولجت معطيات هذه الدراسة ببرنامج SPSS ولقد أظهرت النتائج معدلات مطالعة متدنية لدى أفراد الدراسة، كما تبيَّن أن المطالعة وجودة الترجمة متغيران مرتبطان طرديا، مما يعني أنه كلما زادت المطالعة، كانت الترجمة أفضل، غير أن هذا الارتباط ضعيف نسبيا، وذلك لوجود عوامل أخرى تساهم في تحديد جودة الترجمة. What assists in writing competence improvement of individuals in general, and of pupils in particular, is that regular attentive reading. Translation exercise may be considered as a method to measure the writing competence because it is a form writing and, accordingly, reading may influence translation. The present study aims to determine the relationship between translation and reading. In addition, it aims to examine the extent of interest of the foreign languages stream's students in reading in English and their capability to transfer a text written in Arabic into English without prior study of translation and its strategies. This study was conducted on 42 students studying foreign languages in three different secondary schools. These individuals responded to a questionnaire about their reading in English then they translated a text from Arabic into English to be assessed later. The data treatment was done through SPSS application and the results showed low reading rates among the study individuals. It was also found that reading and translation are positively correlated, which means the more reading is, the better the translation is, but this correlation is proportionally weak due to the presence of contributing factors in determining of the translation quality.

Unveiling the Invisible: The Power of Translator Visibility in Shaping Feminist Novel

Résumé: This article investigates the role of the translator and their visibility in the process of translating feminist novels. In fact, translating feminist literature involves tackling nuanced gender issues and advocating for equality over linguistic and cultural boundaries. Thus, this study aims to highlight the translator's interference and the impact of their visibility on the transference and embrace of feminist ideologies. Hence, this paper delves into the question of whether the visibility of the translator is necessary in acting upon the feminist theory and how it influences the target text. Therefore, to explore this issue, we focus on Alif Shafak's novel, "Black Milk," and its Arabic translation. Moreover, in our analysis, we draw upon the strategies presented by Von Flotow in order to shed light on the relationship between the translator's visibility and the feminist perspective in translation. Furthermore, by examining the translation process and its implications, we endeavour to provide deep insights into the role of the translator's visibility in promoting feminist discourse within translated texts.
