2023-08-11

The current research aims to investigate the impact of the aesthetic expression of popular art, as an art that refers to the visual information that was filtered, absorbed and transmitted to the masses in the 1950-1960, as this art aspired to elevate popular culture to the level of fine arts; The importance of the research shows that pop art is a cultural phenomenon that relied on creative simplicity and visual impact, which is to combine art and common life. we mention Eduardo Paolozzi, a member of the Independent Group and one of the pioneers of the Pop Art, who was able to implement ideas that expressed his influence on the products of a consumer society, leading to Andy Warhol who also acknowledged that the language of advertising has become the new art, And the tastes of the public formed a glorification of consumerism

Cinéma in any way is not devoid of ideology, whether direct or implicit, considering that its makers present ideas and visions through the nature of the system within which it operates and reflects its ideology, which makes it difficult to cut the link between cinema and its ideological function, and this is what we found in the cinema of the diaspora, despite its mastery of the film industry at the technical level with its various directorial methods, but it practiced a sharp ideology at the intellectual level that appears in the audiovisual discourse system, through that discourse The employee has gone against the privacy of the nation, By focusing on the anomalous elements and manifestations in which the models represented in the characters and the extremist ideology were presented, the origin of the artwork must depict what society can become, so that the artistic process becomes more framing for society than diagnostic or conveying reality without artistic workmanship.

Ideology  cinema  algeria  diaspora  identity  discourse  audio -visual

2024-03-10

Résumé: The mind, a complex and ever-changing entity, is a subject of continual study due to its inherent instability and ceaseless interplay of thoughts, ideas, images, signs, feelings, and emotions. Recognizing this inherent characteristic, attempts have been made to captivate individuals' senses and tap into their consciousness on various levels - auditory, visual, subliminal, and physical. This paper delves into the concept of the "Stream of Consciousness," a narrative tool that seeks to engage with and explore these attempts. The "Stream of Consciousness" represents a train of thoughts, an internal dialogue, which can be comprehended, discussed, and analyzed through a psychological lens, both in the context of individual experiences and within the realm of literature. In this research paper, we focus on Fyodor Dostoevsky's Notes from the Underground as a prime example of such an intricate "internal dialogue," encompassing themes of existentialism and mental disorders, with the "Stream of Consciousness" serving as a vital component of its analysis.

Fractured Realities: Unveiling Postmodern Dimensions in Guillaume Musso’s French Thriller Central Park (2014)

2024-03-12

Résumé: Postmodern literature had emerged as a response to its previous waves of philosophical thought, aiming to bring new and unorthodox perspectives to the literary sphere. In this light, it refuted the preconceived and conventional techniques of storytelling and dismantled traditional hierarchies. Postmodern tenets have found fertile ground in the thriller novel as a way to plant the seeds of fragmented, nonlinear, and unreliable narrative mechanisms in a literary genre fueled with themes of uncertainty and pandemonium. Central Park (2014), written by Guillaume Musso, is a contemporary French thriller novel disguised in a postmodernist cloak, tapping into postmodernist tendencies through its intricate narrative structure and exploration of memory.

English has been the subject of extensive research and curriculum development due to its widespread usage in international sciences and technologies, making English for Specific Purposes (ESP) more extensively employed as the primary means of communication in the global community. The English language plays a crucial role, necessitating the establishment of a dedicated curriculum within national programs, as English is taught in every school, institute, or department. The focus of this study is on English as a tool to meet the specific needs of learners in the field of touristic management, as an ETP specialisation, and their future involvement in the world of job market in this realm, thanks to translation services, which are inherently an art form. Uncovering the Dark Truth: A Psychoanalytic Existentialist Exploration in Rebecca West’s The Return of the Soldier

Ameur-said Zakarya,
2024-03-15

Résumé: In the convoluted halls of human experience, few events force the soul to face its reality as deeply as trauma. This research paper considers the shadowy lines where existentialism and trauma intersect in the literary world, unveiling that trauma, in its instinctual shape, again and again, sets people on a terrifying journey to understand themselves. Traumatic experiences leave profound uncertainties in the psyche, triggering an anxious quest for meaning in a chaotic reality. Moreover, this study paper suggests that existentialist literature, mainly the modern one, shows how pain disturbs the normal flow of life, forcing characters—and readers—to confront basic existential questions. Thus, this article suggests —through the reading of the British author Rebecca West’s novel The Return of the Soldier (1918)— how pain may help people reclaim their position in the universe, from end to end of a voyage into what it is to be human being amid trauma’s mysterious, terrible, and transforming experiences.

Mots clés: Psychoanalysis ; Trauma ; Existentialism ; Rebecca West ; The Return of the Soldier

Purity and the Self-Made Man in Emerson's Transcendentalist Philosophy

2024-03-17

Résumé: The philosophy of Transcendentalism by Ralph Waldo Emerson preaches intuition, humanism, non-conformity, originality of thought and goodness. It is a philosophy that is based on human spontaneity and innocence, which stipulates that man in total wilderness and isolation is able to reach the highest level of purity, to connect with God , yet society is a source of evil and corruption because it deprives individuals from being their true selves. This philosophy also presented the concept of self-reliance which later became significant for the American individual in his search for identity. Emerson clarifies that all these concepts are related by the one feature of non-conformity and purity of the soul.

Mots clés: Emerson ; Transcendentalism ; self-reliance

Résumé: Devout and emotional, written with an earnest pencil whose ultimate aim is to reflect the harsh journey of a young boy born with a genetic facial difference, the cinematic adaptation of Wonder (2017) is a portrayal of the struggles, determination and perseverance of little beings remonstrated as different. Recounting an emotional family drama based on R.J. Palacio’s award-winning novel of the same name, Wonder centres on Auggie Pullman, a young boy born with a severe facial anomaly. Therefore, this essay presents a critically socio-psychological analysis of Wonder (2017). The present paper reflects an awareness about the negative impact that words can have on children and the importance of being kind to prevent aggression through a word, or a gesture. The purpose of this essay is to examine Auggie’s behaviour and psyche in various social contexts, and to portray that social stigma and aggression lead the child to self-stigma.
