La Otra Imagen De La “argelia Otomana” Vista Por Los Españoles

Résumé
Resumen El presente estudio pretende tratar una época muy importante para la “Argelia otomana” y para su historiografía moderna. Veremos cómo ha sido vista por los españoles. Intentaremos exponer qué prejuicios y estereotipos que dieron los españoles hacia Argelia otomana, así como mostraremos la postura de la marina argelina en el Mediterráneo. Para ello, es necesario hacer una valoración general del contenido de la producción local en comparación con la española sobre la “Argelia otomana”. En cuanto a los escritos, como los de A. Tawfiq Madani, o Abul Kacem Saad’ Allah, presentan esta época como una lucha hispano-turca en el Mediterráneo, en el que los argelinos están del lado de sus aliados musulmanes, los turcos. La mayoría de las historias se presenta la presencia otomana en Argelia como una alianza que suponía obligaciones de parte argelina, pero que no suprimía la independencia o una relativa autonomía de la “regencia”. Abstract This study intends to deal with a very important time for "Ottoman Algeria" and for its modern historiography. We will see how it has been seen by the Spanish. We will try to expose what prejudices and stereotypes the Spaniards gave towards Ottoman Algeria, as well as show the position of the Algerian navy in the Mediterranean. For this, it is necessary to make a general assessment of the content of the local production in comparison with the Spanish on "Ottoman Algeria". As for the studies, such as those of A. Tawfiq Madani, or Abul Kacem Saad' Allah, they present this time as a Spanish-Turkish struggle in the Mediterranean, in which the Algerians are on the side of their Muslim allies, the Turks.
