Quality Of Life In Cancer Patients: Definition And Measurement

الملخص
One of the issues of increasing importance in oncology is the assessment of the quality of life in cancer patients. The purpose of this review article is to review all existing definitions about quality of life in cancer, and the tools to measure it. By referring to the existing definitions of different researchers, and identifying the most commonly used measurement tools. There is no unified and universally accepted definition of the concept of quality of life, and the diversity of definitions has further complicated the concept. There is also no consensus in healthcare disciplines on the concept of quality of life and methods of measuring it. Despite its importance in health and medicine, there is an ongoing conceptual and methodological debate about the meaning of quality of life and about what should be measured. This created a difference in the tools for assessing the quality of life.
