Authors : Azizi Karima . Boumediene Slimane .

Abstract

This article aims to illustrate the complexity of the concept of quality of life and the different theoretical approaches that explain it, and presenting the most important instruments designed to measure it, since the concept of QoL is one of the good examples of the problematic of the complexity of the term and its multiple dimensions, meanings and uses. Quality of life is a multidimensional assessment of a person's current living conditions within the context of the culture they live in and the values they adopt. It is after all, a subjective feeling of well-being and satisfaction, in physical, psychological, social and spiritual dimensions. The study of the concept of quality of life from a psychological perspective has acquired great importance as a result of the realization by economists, sociologists and policy makers, that life cannot be measured only by numbers and statistics, but actually, it is; responses and feelings. Therefore, the quality of life is evaluated under two aspects, one objective (symptoms, autonomy, etc.) and the other is subjective (psychological, social life, etc.), and it is also evaluated by the patient himself.
