Résumé: Le présent article propose une réflexion sur la question de l’enseignement interculturel en classe de FLE (Français Langue Etrangère) au cycle secondaire dans le Sud algérien. Nous définirons d’abord le concept d’interculturel. Puis, nous parlerons de la réforme éducative de 2003 et du statut qu’elle attribue à la langue française. Nous citerons les premiers résultats d’une enquête menée auprès des enseignants, exerçant à Bechar et nous aborderons les besoins pressants de formation des enseignants, notamment en matière de valorisation de la culture de l’Autre dans l’enseignement de la langue étrangère. Enfin, nous apporterons quelques pistes de réflexion en guise de prospective pour une mise à jour des connaissances, en prenant en compte la dimension interculturelle. Abstract: The present article develops thoughts about the intercultural issue in teaching/learning French (as a foreign language) in South Algeria secondary schools. First of all, we are going to define the intercultural concept. Then, we will talk about the educational reform in 2003 and the status it attributes to French. We will state the first findings of a survey conducted among teachers who are working in Bechar. Next, we will talk about the urgent needs of training teachers mainly in terms of the valuation of the Others’ culture in the foreign language teaching. Finally, we will provide some prospective suggestions in order to update knowledge concerning the intercultural dimension.
