الملخص
بنظرة بروديلية يمكننا إعادة الاعتبار لمنطقة تسالة ودورها التاريخي عبر العصور، لقد كانت المنطقة جاذبة لمختلف القوى السياسية التي مرت على شمال إفريقيا، صحيح أن المصادر التاريخية لم تفها حقها من الاهتمام لدواعي عديدة، أهمها عدم تموقعها في خط تجاري يجذب أقلام الرحالة والجغرافيين، إلا أنها تتمتع بموقع حصين يجعلها رقما صعبا في الحروب التي جرت بالمنطقة عبر العصور، فالمنهزم إذا لاذ بها منحته منعة وحصانة ضد المحاصر، ولهذا السبب أقام الرومان بها حصنا لمراقبة المنطقة؛ ومع الغزو الفرنسي للجزائر ونبش ضباطه ومستشرقيه في تاريخ الجزائر وآثارها وجدوا أن الرومان كان لهم اهتمام بهذه المنطقة، فجددوا نفس الميول لكن في إطار موسع يسعى لتجديد استغلال إمكانياتها الاستراتيجية، وتأتي زيارة هذا القائد العسكري لها في هذا الإطار، أين قام بمسح أثري ودراسة جغرافية وطبيعية لها؛ ونجد أن مدار الاهتمام استقر في آخر المطاف حول ضرورة استغلال الأراضي الخصبة لتسالة ومنحها للمعمرين. With a visionary perspective, we can restore the significance of the Tessala region and its historical role throught the ages. The region has bees attractive to various political powers that have passed through North Africa. While historical sources have not given it due attention for various reason, mainly because it is not situated on a commercial route that attracts the attention of travelers and geographers, it possesses a fortified position that makes it a challenging target refuge in Tessala granted the defeated a sanctuary and immunity against sieges. For this reason, the Romans established a fortress there to monitor the area. During the French invasion of Algeria, when its officiers and orientalists delved into the history of Algeria, they discovred that the Romans had an interest in this region. They renewned the same inclinations, but within an expanded framework seeking to exploit its strategic potential. The military commander’s visit to Tassili was part of this context. He contucted archaeoligical and geographical surveys, and we find that the focus ultimately stelled population
