Written Error Correction Through Cooperative Learning Method Among Efl Learners

Abstract

Error correction is a main part of EFL classroom activity that rarely interests the learners particularly at tertiary level. When learners are given back their sheets of papers tests or exams they are interested in the mark earned not the errors occurred. This study employed cooperative learning method for helping EFL learners to correct their writing errors, and particularly to encourage them to learn from each other. Two groups in an Algerian University were involved in this study. The first one used traditional approach to deal with error correction while the other class employed the cooperative learning method as a group work in order to correct their writing errors. يعتبر تصحيح الاخطاء من النشاطات المهمة داخل اقسامتعليم اللغة الانجليزية كلغةاجنبية، والتي لا تلقى اهتماما من طرف الطلاب وخاصةفي التعليم الجامعي بالخصوص، ونظرا لتركيز الطلاب على العلامات المحصلة لا على الاخطاء المرتكبة في اوراق الامتحان، وتاتي هذه الدراسة لتستخدم التعليم التعاوني كتقنية لمساعدة طلاب اللغة الانجليزية لتصحيح اخطاءهم الكتابية المرتكبة، وبالضرورة تشجيعهم على التعلم فيما بينهم، وهذه الدراسة استخدمت للعينة الاولة الطريقة التقليدية في حين استخدم التعليم التعاوني بالنسبة للعينة تحت التجربةبغية مساعدة الطلاب على تصحيح اخطائهم الكتابية. .
