الملخص
The study aimed at investigation of the suicidal attempts among substance abusers by examing the role of stress, self-esteem, social support and hopelessness as Personality variables and as a mediator. To fulfil these goals, the sample of this study consisted of 47 substance abusers outpatient from the intermediate centre of treatment for substance dependence (Annaba). Ages ranged from 18 to 38 years. The results obtained from the analysis data, showed that substance abusers with attempted suicide reported higher level of stress, low self- esteem, higher level of hopelessness and lowest level of social support compared with Substance abusers reported no suicidal attempts in their lifetime
