الملخص
The Algerian schools need today more than ever, a new vision aimed at raising the heart and conscience as well as the mind and thought to achieve a meaningful education integrated advocated by educators in the modern era, in order to achieve school this goal, there must be leadership and educational conscious multi- competencies and skills, which are flexible and adapt to new data and the ability to analyze and understand relationships and making the right decisions. The school requires an effective leader (director) of high caliber, with special specifications, and a highly skilled, and high performance level, where concepts and adopt new philosophies and principles, than through traditional methods of leadership and management of the school. The leader who is sought by the modern school, which accounts for the complex changes and deal with new situations with skill and efficiency has the necessary leadership, and be a visionary in the creation of a new educational environment Astqsaoua and the scientific heritage in the field of educational leadership in this article I try to answer the following questions: - What is the concept of educational leadership and characteristics? - What are the skills and characteristics that must be available in the effective educational leader?
