الملخص
شكل الأسرى الأوروبيون جزء ا من التركيبة السكانية لمجتمع مدينة الجزائر خلال الفترة العثمانية، ولعبوا دورا هاما في الجانب الإقتصادي كما أشارت أغلب الدراسات التاريخية التي تناولت موضوع الأسرى، غير أن تواجدهم في مدينة الجزائر تعدى الجانب الإقتصادي بل كان لهم تفاعل إجتماعي عبر تكييف أوضاعهم الإجتماعية من خلال الحصول على بعض الحريات كالتنقل والترفيه، وكذا إنشاء بعض المؤسسات الخاصة بهم كالمستشفيات والكنائس لتلبية احتياجاتهم الروحية، وفي هذا السياق، تمتع هؤلاء الأسرى بالحرية الدينية وممارسة معتقداتهم والإحتفال بأعيادهم داخل الكنائس دون المساس بالدين الإسلامي، كمظهر من مظاهر التسامح الديني في المجتمع الجزائري في تلك الفترة، على عكس ما صورته كتابات الأسرى ورجال الدين الذين عملوا على نقل صورة مروعة عن معاناة الأسرى وسوء معاملتهم من طرف المسلمين، فمن خلال هذا العمل سنتعرف على الممارسة الدينية للأسرى، وأهم أعيادهم وإحتفالاتهم الدينية، وكيفية ممارسة طقوسها. The European prisoners were part of the social fabric in the city of Algiers during the Ottoman era and played an important role in the economic side as proved by most of the historical studies that tackled the topic of prisoners. Nevertheless, their existence in the city of Algiers exceeded the economic side to the social interaction through adjusting their social conditions by getting some liberties such as transportation, and leisure. Besides, they built hospitals and churches were they satisfied their spiritual needs. In this line, these Christian prisoners enjoyed the religious freedom, practiced their beliefs, and celebrated their feasts inside the churches without touching Islam. This was an aspect of the religious tolerance in the Algerian society in that era, contrary to what is said in the writings of the prisoners and the religious men who sent a bad image about the sufferance of the prisoners and their mistreatment by the Muslims. Therefore, this study shall focus on the religious practices of the prisoners and shall tackle their religious feasts and how they practiced their rituals.
