الملخص
في هذا الجزء من المذكرات تطرق المؤلف إلى عدة موضوعات متنوعة، أين قدم لنا معلومات وأخبار كان شاهدا عليها، بحكم كونه كان أسيرا في مدينة الجزائر، أين قدم لنا وصفا دقيقا لهذه المدينة، فتحدث عن منازلها، مساجدها، شوارعها ونوافير المياه... إلخ، تحدث عن سكانها فوصف لنا ملابسهم، وعاداتهم، وشعائرهم الدينية، ورسم لنا صورة واضحة عن السجون التي كان يقيم فيها الأسرى المسيحيون وحالتهم البائسة. ولم ينس أن يجمع أسماء بعض الطيور والحيوانات التي كانت تعيش هناك. وفي الأخير تحدث باختصار عن المرابطين وتحدث أيضا عن الحراس الشخصيين للداي، وعن عاداتهم وتقاليدهم. Abstract: In this part of the diary, the author deals with varios topics, where he provides information and news that he witnessed according to his status as a captive in Algiers, so he gave us a precise description of this city, and the surounding regions. He tolks about : houses, mosques, streets, water fountains... Etc., he tels as something about population in this city, their clothings, religiou rites, cerimonal rituals. He ellustrate a clear image of the prisons where Christian slaves lived, their miserable situation. He did not forget to list certain animals and birds lived there. And at the end he provides a brief description about the religions elders (mrabtines), and the body gard of the Dey whithe their rituals and customs.
