Abstract

The Algerian legislator gives the Public Prosecutor's Office full freedom to initiate public proceedings and start criminal prosecution proceedings, i.e. whenever a crime occurrs and the order to commit it comes to the attention of the Public Prosecutor's Office, The latter automatically opens a public action against suspects. However, this general principle actually contains exceptions, i.e. there are offences in which the Public Prosecutor's Office may not file a public action unless certain conditions are met, known as the restrictions contained in the filing of a public action. Corruption offences are crimes that require .certain conditions for filing a public action, which is known as follow-up restrictions
