الملخص
Our paper is interesting by the study of the banking system and its important role in managing the monetary policy, so, for this purpose we will try to present the Algerian monetary stability, as a main goal in the economic activity by using data about gross domestic product (GDP) and money supply (M2). This study aims too at exploring the determinants of the demand for money in Algeria. the demand for money as a function of real income, interest rate, inflation rate, exchange rate and a dummy variable to reflect the external shocks, has been estimated using the Fully-Modified OLS to measure the demand elasticities with respect to this variables for the period (1970-2009), which is known for its capacity to solve the autocorrelation problem and coefficient bias.
