This study aims to test the impact of oil prices on public expenditures in Algeria during the period 1989-2019. In order to achieve this goal, the study relied on the ARDL method for the processing of statistical data, where the model includes public expenditures as a dependent variable and oil prices as an independent variable. The study concluded that there is no co-integration between the variables, therefore, the presence of a relationship that is integrative and equilibrium in the long term between public spending and oil prices.
Government expenditures, economic growth, national income, oil prices, oil demand.
