Authors : Khireddine Amel .

Abstract

This paper aims at debunking the discourse of the erotic body in Calixthe Beyala's text femme nue femme noire laying emphasis on its chief characteristic of mystical dimension that seeks to shock, transgress and bring about literary and social change. This discourse is centered on a conjunction between eroticism and pornography. At the same time, sexuality is used as a backdrop for raising important questions, such as those related to homosexuality and censorship in patriarchal societies. Beyala’s text thus explores the complex relationship between sexuality, power and social norms.
