الملخص

On the one hand, the reading competence is considered as a cognitive competence, which is produced through a number of performance determining a set of internal and personal capacities, which in turn, permit the learner to deal with written texts and construct sense in an efficient way. On the other hand, reading has a crucial role in the success of learner. It is the way towards the acquisition of the subjects taught. In spite of the efforts made in this domain to elaborate teaching methods and the conception of programs founded on modern teaching/learning theories of reading, a great number of learners sill show weaknesses in fail to acquire competence in writing. Their competence lag behind the required level. This study aims at identifying the factors meant to acquire the reading competence, and looks for the cognitive mechanisms for during the reading process and this through a comparative study between the bad and the good reader.
