الملخص
تتسم مرحلة الشيخوخة بمجموعة من المظاهر كالضعف و الاعتماد على الآخرين، و ذلك لحدوث جملة من التغيرات على المستوى البيولوجي و النفسي و الاجتماعي تؤدي إلى هبوط تدريجي في قدرات الفرد على القيام بوظائفه و إلى تراجع في المجال الكلي للنشاط ، فان ظاهرة التقدم في السن قد تضع المجتمع الإنساني أمام واقع جديد له متطلباته فيما يخص نوعية الحياة التي يجب توفيرها لهذه الزيادة في أعداد المسنين أو نوع الخدمات الصحية و الرعاية الاجتماعية و النفسية التي يجب أن تتلاءم مع ظروفهم و أوضاعهم الجسمية، و قدراتهم الذهنية و كذا أفضل الطرق للتعامل معهم ،و احتمالات الاستفادة من وجودهم كأعضاء فاعلين في المجتمع. Old age is characterized by a set of manifestations such as weakness and dependence on others , This is due to the occurrence of a number of changes at the biological, psychological and social level that lead to a gradual decline in the individual’s abilities to carry out his functions and to a decline in the overall field of activity . The phenomenon of aging may put the human society in front of a new reality that has its requirements regarding the quality of life that must be provided for this increase in the number of the elderly or the type of health services and social and psychological care that must be compatible with their circumstances, physical conditions, and mental abilities, as well as The best ways to deal with them, and the possibilities of benefiting from their presence as active members of society.
