Features Of The Green Economy In Algeria And Possibilities For Development

Abstract
Abstract: We discuss through this paper the conceptual framework of the green economy, in terms of definition, principles and characteristics, as well as measurement indicators, which are closely related to the sustainable development goals. In the simplest expression of a green economy, it can be considered as an economy with low carbon emission levels, high energy and other resource efficiency rates, and socialization through concern for people's welfare. On this basis, this paper aims to evaluate Algeria's efforts in the field of greening the economy. Several results have been reached, including: Algeria suffers from environmental degradation, despite the excessive dependence on hydrocarbon revenues as a key factor in spending on various economic sectors, and financing social protection policies.
