The notions of transitive/intransitive and causative are not only syntactic, i.e. do not imply only distributional notions but also semantic one sine the sense that verbs in general can be inherently both. This paper attempts therefore to examine each case by taking an illustrative sample of verbs in Arabic, English and French in order to show the transferability of lexico-semantic properties from one language to another in translation. Number of verbs sharing the same semantic features vary with their collocational features. Thus, when identifying verbs similar semantic features of the languages the translator is dealing with, he definitely can identify similar collocational features. The translatability of those features may have different forms.
