Integrating Environmental Sustainability Into Human Resources Management: A Comprehensive Review On Green Human Resources Management (green Hrm) Practices

Abstract

The HR professionals face numerous challenges arising from this volatile business world. One of the contemporary important challenges faced by them is to ensure the proper integration of environmental sustainability into human resources policies. The Green Human Resources Management (Green HRM) has emerged from companies engaging in practices related to protection of environment and maintaining ecological balance. This study aims at analyzing the concepts, importance, practices and implications of Green Human Resource Management (Green HRM). The study was basically conducted based on a thorough analysis of existing literatures. The study has found that the Green Human Resource Management (Green HRM) endeavors result in expanded efficiencies, economical utilization of resources, less wastage, improved job related attitude, improved work/private life, lower costs, improved worker execution and maintenance which help organization to ensure environmentally sensitive, resource efficient and socially responsible workplace. The study identified the key activities of Green Human Resources Management in alignment with the traditional human resources practices.
