الملخص
Abstract: The research aims to demonstrate the role that corporate governance plays in achieving competitive advantage through proper application of the principles of governance, To achieve the objective of the research, the impact of four corporate governance mechanisms (size of board of directors, external independents, capital adequacy and ownership focus) was tested on the competitive advantage of a sample of banks listed on the Iraq Stock Exchange through the Tobins Q Index, The research found that there was a statistically significant relationship between the independent variable ownership concentration and the dependent variable Tobins index, There is no statistically significant relationship between the independent variables, the size of the board of directors, the independent independents, and the adequacy of the capital and the dependent variable Tobins Q Index, The relationship was positive between the size of the board of directors, capital adequacy and ownership concentration and the Tobins Q index, while the relationship between external independents and the Tobins Q index was inverse.
