الملخص
The theme of parental authority in the family is considered among the new themes that has caused a social evolution in the Algerian society. In this study we will try to focus on how to understand and treat the issue of parental authority in the Algerian family from a structural and functional point of view in relation with the symbolic of these emerging new social actors, that attempted to impose a new position, due to a cultural change in the Algerian society. It seeks the indicators of the extension of the parental authority in the present Algerian family, and on the other hand found other indicators of the break with the type of the traditional family authority. Therefore, this article demonstrates that the Algerian family to maintain some of the characteristics of the traditional type with the existence; a significant change in the distribution of work between the individuals and the quality of the roles, rights and duties and the disparity in the responsibilities and authority in the family have been done. This does not mean the adoption of the current Algerian family the nuclear Western type, yet this separation is accompanied by the continuity of the many traditional social commitments.
