Algerian youth language is predominantly characterized by its creativity and use of misdirection. These linguistic strategies affect the different elements of the language system (phonological, lexical, syntactic, but also semantic elements). This study focuses on the speech of young Algerian men in the field of seduction and catcalling. It proposes an analysis of the linguistic strategies adopted by young male speakers when talking about/to women. The corpus of this study consists essentially of the responses to a semi-directive questionnaire and the sound recordings of discussions between men. Through this analysis we aim to see what characterizes their speech when it comes to the field of seduction and catcalling. The results of this analysis show that in such situations young people use a specific lexicon that is characterized by its embellished humor and its devious, codified and creative nature.
