Authors : Abachi Ahmed .

Abstract

Translation teaching ; like translation, has yet to develop a full and coherent account of its practice. In the former instance whether to teach theory or not is still being debated among pedagogists . as regards translation, arguments wether it is an art or a science have been going on for many years . furthermore what makes matters even worse are the many complexists involved in the translation process . The com plexists are not only linguistic, sociological, syntactic, stylistic, but al soextralinguistic sociological, etc . Faced with all this parameters, it would be easy to get he the impression that translation is impossible. Nevertheless, 'various formulations of principles and practices have been proposed .The context in which these principles and procedures have been formulated is "translation theory" According to Newmark translation theory is concerned with derermining appropriate transla tion methods for the widest possible range of texts or text-categories.
