Measures To Combat Drugs Abuse Crime

Authors : Aichaoui Amel .

Abstract

Drugs are a global concern, prompting the establishment of special frameworks by domestic and international systems to address and combat their significant impact on society and individuals. These frameworks encompass a diverse range of tools and mechanisms that intersect with legal institutions dedicated to healthcare, security, education, and preventive authorities. Algeria has recently focused its efforts on these aspects, influenced by regional and international endeavors. The country has stringent laws on organized crime, including drug-related offenses, and has adopted institutions with significant powers to regulate the pharmaceutical industry. Algeria aims to achieve a balance between protecting public health and the interests of companies, and has made progress in establishing an integrated system for regulating the pharmaceutical industry while allowing the participation of private Algerian or foreign companies. However, the country's pharmaceutical sector still relies heavily on imports.
