Abstract

Language teaching has never been motionless. Betterment-seeking and quality enhancements were the top priorities of all teachers. Whenever teachers find themselves in a dilemma, they attempt to figure out what methods or strategies to overcome the problem; special educational needs, such as Dyslexia, are a case in point. Teachers are obliged to meet the specific needs of dyslexic learners by looking for efficient strategies. Thus, the present study investigates the application of SWOT Analysis (strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats analysis) to enhance teachers' practices with people with Dyslexia at the level of ten private schools in Tlemcen-West Algeria. To reach the objectives of this research, an experimental case study was conducted throughout three phases, including forty-eight teachers and eight people with Dyslexia divided into ten private schools. Based on both quantitative and qualitative analysis, researchers deduced that in the first phase, teachers lack knowledge about SWOT Analysis and awareness about Dyslexia. Besides, the results of the second phase showed that they could employ SWOT Analysis appropriately. Another result in the third phase is that SWOT Analysis can help teachers enhance their practices with people with Dyslexia. In the end, one may mention that the present study contributed to the existing literature about how to solve particular educational needs-related problems.
