Préparatifs Des Guerres Coloniales En Afrique De L’ouest : Cas De La Colonne Kong 1887-1895

Résumé En activité dans la colonie de Côte d’Ivoire, de septembre 1894 à mars 1895, le corps expéditionnaire de Kong ou « colonne de Kong » ne fut guère un évènement ex-nihilo. Son avènement fut la résultante de plusieurs facteurs notamment, le début de l’invasion samorienne, l’annulation de la colonne de l’Oubangui et sa redirection sur la Côte d’Ivoire pour y faire la guerre. En France, la majeure partie des préparatifs de cette guerre a été consacrée à l’octroi des crédits budgétaires au ministère des Colonies par l’Assemblée Nationale, l’achat des besoins aux troupes. Dans la colonie de Côte d’Ivoire également, ces préparatifs embrassèrent la construction d’infrastructures et la conception du plan de guerre. *************** Summary Operating in the Ivory Coast colony from September 1894 to March 1895, the Kong Expeditionary Corps or 'Kong Column' was hardly an ex-nihilo event. Its advent was the result of several factors, notably the beginning of the Samorian invasion, the cancellation of the Ubangi column and its redirection to the Ivory Coast to wage war. In France, most of the preparations for this war were devoted to the granting of budgetary credits to the Ministry of the Colonies by the National Assembly, the purchase of supplies for the troops. In the colony of Côte d'Ivoire, too, these preparations included the construction of infrastructure and the design of the war plan.
