Reference In Saheeh International’s Translation Of The Qur’an: Surat Al Israa’ As A Sample

Abstract
The present research provides a detailed analysis of reference, a grammatical cohesive device, in one of the accurate and acknowledged English translations of the Qur’an, Saheeh International. It uses modern discourse analysis theories of cohesion to examine cohesive patterns in one of the Qur’anic chapters, Al-Isra’, which can deepen our interpretation and comprehension of the Qur’an and expand our knowledge about Quranic textual relations. The article is based on the findings of our magister research (2015). The data is rechecked, updated, re-evaluated and presented in a new form.
