ملخص: تسعى الدراسة إلى رصد طريقة القدماء والمحدثين في عملية نقل ألفاظ الحضارة وتوليدها. فالمصطلح العلمي لدى التراثيين لم يكن إشكالية، بل لم يُشَكِّلْ خصومة بالنسبة إليهم؛ فأعمالهم تثبت أن العرب لم تَجْرِ على طريقة قياسية واحدة في التوليد وتعريب الوافد أو نقله. فقد استثمروا آليات متنوعة كالاشتقاق والتعريب والمجاز والنحت... واجتهدوا بكيفيات مختلفة تتعذر صياغتها في قواعد جامعة مانعة. وقد ساعدهم على المرور بالمشكلة الاصطلاحية دون مشكلة، مكانة اللغة دينيا وسياسيا من جهة، ووضعها من جهة ثانية؛ حيث كانت مُنْتِجَة للمفاهيم ولم تكن مستهلكة فحسب. أما عن التجارب الحديثة لدى المعاصرين فقد تميزت بالقلق والاضطراب، علما أن نضج المصطلحات واستقرارها عملية مرحلية، عادة يخضع فيها المصطلح إلى غربلة تلقائية قد يتعذر تفسيرها أحيانا، فقد يمر بمرحلة خرق وانتهاك، ولكنه مؤقت، وهي حالة صحية في اللغات الطبيعية، يكون في النهاية البقاء فيها للمصطلح الأفضل بعد نضج مفهومه في الأذهان والأعيان. Arabic and its Mechanisms that Generate Civilization Lexicon Abstract: The current study seeks to prove that differences between traditionalists and modernists in terms of transferring as well as generating civilization lexicon exist. Scientific terms have never, as of yet, been a source of discord. They never constituted a conflict for those keen on heritage, either. Therefore, their works are proofs that the Arabs did not follow a single analogical rule while generating and Arabizing borrowings or while transferring them. They rather took full advantage of a slew of mechanisms such as derivation, Arabization, metaphor, coinage, and yet others. Furthermore, they strived in several ways that are hard to formulate in comprehensive rules. A source of immense help to them was the position Arabic occupied religiously and politically on one hand. On the other hand, Arabic has never been a good consumer. It was rather an excellent producer. As for the experiences of modern scholars, they are mostly characterized by worries and discrepancies. It is worth mentioning that terms maturity as well as stability are a gradual process during which terms are subject to a normal scrutiny, which is not always easy to explain. This process may, at times, witness some temporary breaches and violations, which is quite normal in the case of natural languages, at the end of which no terms remain except those that are good enough after becoming mature concepts within minds and amongst users.
