This study dealt with the demand of electricity consumption for a sample of consumers from the Boumerdes region during the period January 2009 to January 2015, where the main objective of this study was to determine the variables that can affect the demand for electricity. I assumed that the independent variables (population, price, barn connected to the network) affect the required amount of electricity. By using fixed effects models we reached the following results: the existence of a positive relationship between population and the required quantities of electricity. The study also found that there is an inverse relationship between the consumption of electricity and the price, which is in accordance with the economic theory and confirms the validity of hypotheses of the study. The latter recommend rationalization of the consumption of electric power by following the necessary procedures.
