حول كلمة «تازي» في الفارسية Reflections On The Persian Word “tazi”

الملخص: حول جذر ومنشأ كلمة «تازي» الفارسية يقدم الباحث عبد النبي قيم، الکاتب والمؤرخ الإيراني، تفصيلًا حول منشأ الكلمة واستعمالاتها اللغوية، إذ درَج استخدامها بمعنى «العربي» لدى الأدباء والكُتّاب بصِيَغِها المختلفة في النصوص الفارسية الكلاسيكية شعرًا ونثًرا. ويقول الباحث إن المؤرخين والكُتّاب اختلفوا حول أصل هذه الكلمة، حتى إن بعضهم اقترب في تفسيره لها من الأساطير، والغالب أنها مأخوذة من اسم قبيلة «طي»، و«طائي»، وطرأ عليها تغيير بانتقالها من العربية إلى الفارسية لتصبح «تازي»، ثم وصف الإيرانيون بها جميع العرب مجازًا. ويوضح الباحث أن كلمة «تازي» حاليًّا باتت تحمل معنى سلبيًّا. صحيح أن بعض الأساتذة والباحثين والكُتّاب يستخدمونها ولا يقصدون بها أيًّا من المعاني السلبية، لكن المعاني الجديدة لا بدَّ أن تتداعى إلى الأذهان عند قراءتها أو سماعها، لذلك يتجنَّب المنصفون استخدامها لعدم إساءة فهم مقاصدهم، ومع ذلك يُصِرّ البعض على استخدامها بذريعة استعمالها في النصوص القديمة. Abstract: Iranian researcher Abdunnabi Qayem provides insights into the root and use of the Persian word تازی “tazi,” shedding light on its widespread use to connote “Arab” by scholars and poets in ancient Persian texts. Qayem refers to the academic debate over the origins of this word among historians and writers, some of which have leaned toward mythical interpretations. The word is likely derived from the Arabic طَيِّand طائي (“ṭayyi,” or name of an Arab clan) which has been modified to “tazi” in Persian. Thus, this word, drawn from Arabic, was metaphorically employed in ancient Persian literature to refer to all Arabs. The researcher notes that the word’s semantic implications have become negative. While it is true that some scholars, researchers and writers do fall back on the word without intending any negative connotation, the new negative inferences inevitably come to mind when the word is read or heard. Therefore, unbiased individuals opt to avoid it in light of its prejudicial undertones while some insist on using it, highlighting its literary significance in ancient texts.
