Abstract: In the article “What is a child? by Tamar Schapiro, we find that the concept of childhood is the definition that a child is a person who is justified in treating him in the manner of his parents, that is, as if he follows Kant, whose thought describes that he is not allowed to manage his life and make his own decisions, As an "anti-parentalist," Shapiro argues that, as a general rule, it is morally inappropriate to ignore another person's will and choose their choices in their stead even if they are not likely to make informed decisions themselves however, "children" are usually excluded from these Al-Qaeda. Shapiro argues that this exception requires special consideration, and that justification of paternity in the infantile state must be examined. Without necessarily adopting Shapiro's assumptions, this article will seek to address the concept of childhood with particular attention to the power relations involved, prevalent between those generally defined as children and the adults around them, and the interrelationships between childhood and adulthood.
