La Frequence Du Celibat En Algerie

Résumé

In recent decades, one of the most salient features of nuptiality in Algeria is the increase in age at first marriage for both women and men. This increase is attributable to some of the living conditions with all the consequences on health and education in particular. For others, it is the result of the decline of ancestral traditions and customs that precede the marriage of the insurance of the reproduction and the insurance of the family and the tribal in favor of Western behaviors sign of the development. The other characteristic, no less important of retention, is the volume of celibacy so that some authors and detect a social problem are not suitable for explanations. This modest contribution attempts to shed some light on this phenomenon, based mainly on statistical data from the 2002 Family Health Survey and the 2012 Multiple Indicators Survey.
