This research attempts to trace the concept of the ‘Other’ in the perception of Prince Abdul Qadir Al Jazairi in its historical and ideological contexts. The 1860 Damascus massacre occurred in a brief moment in the life of the nation. The study dealt with five sub-components: The other in the Emir Abdelkader thought before Damascus. Prince from captivity to Damascus. Damascus Massacre 1860. The role of the Prince in an attempt to prevent Massacre. Prince's role in the protection of Christians during the Massacre.
