The Sustainable Manufacturing Focuses And Their Implications: A Case Study In The State Company For Electrical And Electronic Industries

Abstract

The research aims at studying the possibility of carrying out the sustainable manufacturing in the State Company for Electrical and Electronic Industries and to determine the gap between the basic focuses and the factual reality, and considering the pressure that faces the company which is the subject of the research paper represented by the strict government legislations due to pollution that results from its products during the use of them and after being expired as well as the disposal of these products in the landfill, this is from one hand and on the other hand is that about the emissions and toxic gases which lead to the environmental pollution, hence, a number of three-level dimensions have been adopted which refer to the basic focuses of sustainable manufacturing and have been confirmed by a number of writers and researchers, they are (The basic focuses concerning to the quality of the product, the level of the process and the level of the system) which play an essential role in reducing environmental pollution, preserving raw materials and providing products that meet the needs of customers. In order to conduct the field side of the research paper to reach the results, the checklist should be used as a main tool for data collection, and through the field coexistence of the researcher at the research site to identify the products of the researched company, the production system, the required documents and conducting a number of interviews with the concerned managers, the checklist was filled and all answers are available for all questions as long as the research is concerned. A number of conclusions and recommendations have been reached in the research which represent the most prominent conclusion that expresses the extent of carrying out the sustainable manufacturing focuses in which the general average of the researched company level of the sustainable manufacturing focuses ownership reached (0.95) out of (2) degrees and with an application rate of (0.47), therefore the gap reached (0.53) which indicates that the available level is at an intermediate level that required exerting much efforts to reduce the gap, but the most prominent recommendation is represented by the necessity of the company management hard working in going forward to implement more practices that contribute to achieve sustainable industrialization and in paying attention to rehabilitate the waste and consuming materials.
