Between 1998 and 2001 the Royal Observa tory of Belgium and the National Geographic lnstitute of Belgium performed several gravity campaigns to establish a new Belgian Gravity Base Network (BLGBN98). There are 41 base points. The scale is well constrained by 8 absolute gravity stations. Nine gravimeters (LaCoste & Romberg and Scintrex) have been used on the field. The data have been reduecd in a common adjustment. A scale factors has been determined for each instrument. The RMS error on the unit weight reaches 19 µgal. The RMS error on t he gravity points is ranging between 4 µgal and 10 µgal. The results show the distortions of a previous reference network realized i n 1978.
