الملخص
This paper seeks to identify the role of the government in eliminating social and economic effects of poverty and unemployment through shedding light on productive families’ scheme, designed by the Ministry of Social Development. The study also aims at revealing the most significant obstacles which impede the effectiveness of this scheme. It also seeks to unveil most prominent measures and mechanisms which could contribute to enabling and enacting the scheme of productive families. This study concluded a number of outcomes: • The productive families’ scheme contributes to improving the standard of living for individuals through providing a fixed income for families. It also works on providing job opportunities for people who worked on the projects. • The scheme enables women economically, socially and psychologically. • This study concludes that the majority of projects are small, simple and conventional and that they do not require high skills, on the other hand, creative pioneer projects have vanished. • The study also concluded that there is a weak fluctuating funding for this scheme and that this reflects that competent authorities ignore the pivotal role of such schemes in eliminating the consequences of poverty and unemployment. • The study also concluded that there is a weak follow up with regards to projects which emanated from the scheme. This is the result of modest financial and technical potential.
