تلعب الظروف المحيطة غالبا بالوقائع التاريخية دورا بارزا في الأحداث، إذ سرعان ما تصبح طرفا رئيس سواءً سلبا أم ايجابا، ولذلك فحادثة تحرير مدينة وهران من الاحتلال الاسباني عام 1792م، لم يكن وليد الصدفة وإنما تزامن ذلك مع ظروف خاصة من الناحية السياسية والعسكرية، فحتى وان كانت لا ترق الى المستوى الذي نعتبرها كلها أنها كانت في صالح الجزائريين، ولكنها ساهمت بشكل أو بآخر في اضعاف العدو من جهة ومن أخرى كانت عاملا مشجعا للباي محمد بن عثمان الكبير باي الغرب الجزائري أن يدخل مضارب الاسبان بكل فخر واعتزاز يوم 24 فيفري 1792م. Abstract: The circumstances surrounding historical events often play a prominent role in the events, as they quickly become a major party, either negatively or positively. Therefore, the liberation of the city of Oran from the Spanish occupation in 1791 was not the result of chance, but coincided with particular political and military conditions. Even if it did not live up to the level that we all think was in favour of the Algerians, it contributed in one way or another to the weakening of the enemy on the one hand and, on the other hand, was an encouraging factor for the late Mohamed Ben Othman al-Kabir in the Algerian West to enter the Spanish sites with pride on 24 February 1792
