Overrunning and Substitution in the interpretation of Sheikh Muhammad Metwally Al Shaarawi Abstract The research dealt with the Substitution and the Overrunning in the interpretation of Sheikh Muhammad Metwally Al-Shaarawi. The importance of the research is to clarify the opinions of the grammarians and interpreters, in some verses that may include and the Overrunning and Substitution. In the addition to the opinion of Sheikh Muhammad Al-Shaarawi about them to find out what distinguished Sheikh Al-Shaarawi from those who preceded him. The research consists of an introduction, preface, nine chapters, followed by the conclusion, and a list of sources and references. The introduction consists of the research plan and its importance and my methodology in studying the topics in interpretation of Sheikh Muhammad Metwally Al Shaarawi. The preface consists of two chapters. The first is about his name, birth and upbringing, career life, distinctions and memberships, his poetry and his books, and the second, Substitution and Overrunning, their definition in language and Substitution and Overrunning between analogy and hearing, and the disagreement between the Baserians and the kufin (From two cities in Iraq) in the Substitution and Overrunning. The most important findings of the research: The tendency of grammarians to say of substituting prepositions, especially in their books that are devoted to the meanings of these letters, as well as to attribute the saying by Overrunning to the Basrians, and the saying Substitution to the Kufin are not correct at all. Sheikh Al-Shaarawi believes that saying the Overrunning of verbs in the Book of God - may He be glorified and exalted - is better than saying that the letters represent some of them in place of others.
