الملخص
Since its apperance at the beginning of the twentieth century the movement of the New Novel has tried to create a distinct world by using special narrattive techniques. The most prominent of these techniques is the fact of making time the central hero of the novel. Indeed, the novelist is no longer concerned with the chronology of events; flashes of the past overlap with dreams of the future in a present that may not go beyond a single day . This article attempts to account for the manipulation of time in Wassini Laaredj’s novel Sayidat el Makamwhich belongs to the movement of the New Novel.
