Measurement Of Full-field De Formation During Propagation Of Creeping Discharges Over Solid/liquid Interfaces

Abstract

This work aims to introduce the technique of digital image correlation in the study of creeping discharges at the interface solid / liquid in lightning impulse voltage using a point-plan configuration to measure field’s deformation and displacements induced by these discharges on the surface of the solid insulation. The digital image correlation is an experimental technique which has the principle of dividing each image into subsets and a comparison of gray levels of these subsets before and after deformation to obtain a mapping displacements along x and y and also following deformation fields.
