The Prerogatives Of The Security Council In Accordance With The Provisions Of Articles 13 (b) And 16 Of Rome Statute And Their Impact On The Exercise Of Competences Of The International Criminal Court

الملخص

Abstract : The permanent members of the Security Council ,particularly theUnited States of America, sought, during the Rome Conference on the Establishment of the International Criminal Court to grantthe Security Council wide powers in accordance with article 13(b) and 16 of thé Court'statute as a measure to maintain international peace and security. However, the Security Council's practices are often subject to political considerations which are contingent upon the will of its permanent members which may have negative implications for the Courts independence and the exercice of its juridictions.
