Description

"Rawafed" for Research and Studies is an international, academic, peer-reviewed, open-access, non-profit journal published semi-annually by the History and Civilization Laboratory, at the University of Ghardaia. "Rawafed" for Research and Studies journal, founded in 2016, is interested in the dissemination of original applied research which has not been previously published in sciences human and social sciences, arts and cultures, and Islamic sciences. The journal targets theoretical, interpretative or experimental research submitted by doctorate students, professors and all researchers in the aforementioned fields of research. The journal publishes in three languages: Arabic, English and French. "Rawafed" for Research and Studies journal is an open access which means that all content is freely available without charge to the users. Users and researchers are allowed to read, download, print and search the full texts of the articles via the ASJP platform. The authors are invited to read and consider the various information related to the Journal of “Rawafed for Research and Studies: guides to authors, editorial committee, publication ethics, etc. Rawafed Journal for Research and Studies journal is indexed in various databases and bibliographic search engines.

Audio-Visual Materials Effectiveness on the Learning Process

الملخص: ABSTRACT: This study aims to pinpoint the effectiveness of audio-visual materials on learning process and investigate the benefits that the English teachers and learners get in using these aids. A descriptive analytical method was followed. The required data were collected by means of a questionnaire. The sample which was chosen randomly was fifty (50) students from the faculty of education, University of Al-Butana; For processing and analyzing the data statistically (SPSS) program was used. The findings of the study show that learning without using audio-visual aids, do not encourage the students, using audio-visual aids makes the class interactive and dynamic, teachers convey the message to the students easily by using audio-visual aids. ملخص: تهدف هذه الدراسة لتحديد فاعلية الوسائل السمعية والبصرية في العملية التعليمية وبحث الفوائد التي ينالها الأساتذة والمتعلمين في استخدام هذه الوسائل. تم اتباع المنهج الوصفي التحليلي.جُمعت البيانات المطلوبة بواسطة استبانة. العينة التي تم اختيارها عشوائياً كانت (50) طالباً من كلية التربية، جامعة البطانة. لمعالجة وتحليل البيانات إحصائياً، تم استخدام برامج (SPSS). توضح النتائج أن التعليم بدون الوسائل السمعية والبصرية، لا يشجع الطلاب، استخدام الوسائل السمعية والبصرية يجعل الفصل متفاعلاً وديناميكياً، ينقل الأساتذة الرسالة للطلاب بسهولة باستخدام الوسائل السمعية والبصرية.

On-Screen Discourse on Terrorism: Hollywood Representation of Arabs and Muslims pre- and post-9/11 Attacks

Résumé: The purpose of the current study is to shed light on Hollywood representation of Arabs and Muslims in terrorist discourse. It seeks to answer, especially, three main questions: How does Hollywood discourse depict Arabs and Muslims pre and post 9/11? What is the ideological stance of Western politics towards them? Did pre 9/11 discourse predict 9/11 event? To answer these questions, we have formulated three main hypotheses. The first states that Hollywood discourse depicts Arabs and Muslims in both pre and post 9/11 in a negative way. The second states that western politics considers them as radical terrorists. The third states that pre- 9/11 discourse has predicted terrorist attacks against U.S. territory. To analyse on-screen discourse, we have adopted Van Dijk’s model of Ideological Discourse Analysis. The chosen data consider two films before and after 9/11. The analysis of on-screen discourse reveals that all hypotheses are confirmed.
