Improving Teaching of Business English in Algeria Communicative Language Teaching as an Approach of Teaching

Résumé: The central objective of this research paper is to examine the ability of applying Communicative Language Teaching Approach as a tool of teaching of first-year English for Business Classes at Djelfa University. As CLT has become modern trend of foreign and second languages teaching. This research has indicated that there is a significant correlation values between the independent variable CLT principles and English for Business Purposes First Year master Classes, English for Business Purposes Classes. Accordingly, we can apply this approach as a method of teaching in EBP classes. Whereas, according to One- way ANOVA test, results showed that, there is no significant difference between the lecturers’ answers, and learners’ answers concerning the different study dimensions’ except toward the CLT Principles. Thus, lecturers and learners of EBP at Djelfa University do not share the same point of view about CLT Principles’. In order to solve this problem, we have to organize in the future workshops or conferences about CLT Approach as a good trend of teaching of ESP in general, and EBP in particular.

The impact of exchange rate policy in achieving economic stability

Résumé: Abstract: This paper aims to investigate and analyzes the effectiveness of monetary policy, by using channel of exchange price in official and black markets to achieving economic stability for Libya by using annual date for the period 1980-2020. We adopted gross domestic product, unemployment rate and exchange rates as model’s variables, while these variables consider as one of the macroeconomic indicators. The analysis is performed by using structural break unit root tests, Gregory Hansen, Threshold co-integration "FMOLS, DOLS & CCR" methodology. Subsequently, the results showed that the existence of a "structural break" in 2003, while the inverse relationship in long run between Official exchange rates and economic growth, hence, it is an important stabilizing factor for the Libyan economy. Furthermore, reducing the Libyan unemployment rate would lead to an increase in economic growth.

التضخم المستورد والاستثمار المحلي في ليبيا، هل التضخم الدولي معيق للنمو؟

الملخص: هدف البحث لقياس أثر التضخم المستورد على الاستثمار المحلي في الاقتصاد الليبي خلال الفترة 1970-2021، وقد بينت أهم نتائج نموذج ARDL الذي تم تبنيه في هذا البحث أن التضخم المستورد يؤثر إيجابياً على مستوى الاستثمار في الاقتصاد الليبي بفترة إبطاء قدرها سنة واحدة، وذلك خلال الأجل القصير، أما خلال الأجل الطويل فقد بينت النتائج أن التضخم المستورد معيق للنمو الاقتصادي، حيث ارتبط متغيري التضخم المستورد والاستثمار المحلي بعلاقة تأثير سلبية خلال المدى الطويل. The main aim of this study is to investigate the nature of relationship between imported inflation and local investment in the Libyan economy during the period 1970-2021. ARDL estimates indicated a positive relationship between one-year lagged value of imported inflation and local investment in the short run. However, in the long run the study findings showed that imported inflation is an obstacle of economic growth. In other words, it indicated a long run negative relationship between imported inflation and local investment.

الملخص: تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى قياس مستوى أداء الخدمات العمومية بولاية ورقلة من خلال قياس تقييم المواطنين لمستوى جودة الخدمات العمومية، ومستوى رضاهم عن هذه الخدمات بمختلف الجوانب والإجراءات الخاصة بعملية تقديمها، وقد جاءت هذه الدراسة بالتزامن مع مختلف الجهود الرامية إلى تحسين وإصلاح الإدارة العمومية تماشيا مع التوجهات الحديثة لممارسات المناجمنت في قطاع الإدارة العمومية، حيث تم إنجاز هذه الدراسة من خلال تصميم وتوزيع إستبيان على عينة قدرها (315) مواطن، وقد أسفرت النتائج عن تقييم ضعيف لمستوى جودة الخدمات العمومية وعدم الرضا عنها من طرف المواطنين عينة الدراسة، مما يتطلب تكثيف الجهود للنهوض بمستوى تقديم الخدمات العمومية بالشكل الذي يستجيب لتطلعاتهم. the objective of study is to quantify the performance level of public services in the state of Ouargla by measuring citizens’ assessment of the level of quality of public services, and their level of satisfaction with these services with various aspects and procedures related to the process of providing them. This study came in conjunction with various efforts aimed at improving and reforming public administration in line with modern trends in Management practices in the public administration sector. This study was completed by designing and distributing a questionnaire to a sample of (315) citizens. The results resulted in a weak assessment of the level of quality of public services and dissatisfaction with them among the citizens of the study sample, which requires intensified efforts to improve the level of public service provision in a way that responds to their aspirations.

Social Support Strategies and Economic Impacts in Algeria: Critical Analysis and Future Perspectives

Résumé: In the face of growing economic challenges, Algeria is faced with the urgent need to thoroughly reform its subsidy policy and public financial management. This reform aims to reconcile essential social support, financial sustainability and the promotion of economic development. Although subsidies aim to stabilize prices and assist citizens, they represent a significant financial burden for the state, contributing to worsening socio-economic inequalities. These measures tend to disproportionately benefit high-income individuals at the expense of the most vulnerable. Moreover, the state of public finances and foreign trade, as well as the adjustments provided for by the 2024 Finance Act, are key elements that place subsidies at the heart of political and economic debates. This critical study examines the historical and ideological bases of the welfare state in Algeria, the rentier state crisis, and suggests an approach for a multidimensional social policy strategy, for a substantial reform to ensure an economically viable and socially equitable future in Algeria
