Abstract

ABSTRACT This paper aims at revealing the importance of information technology, IT to the knowledge economy and economic development in Iraq. It focuses on the importance of enhancing Customer Relationship Management, CRM. The role of IT in economic development is rarely addressed. This has been considered here with a special vision. The paper adopts a field study to assess the shape and direction of the relationship between banks and Customers, via electronic media. A sample of four private banks was approved in Baghdad in mid-2018. A questionnaire was designed to gather primary data. Eighty questionnaires were distributed, of which 74 were valid, six of which were excluded due to incomplete responses. The paperwork, also examines the importance of IT in management of banking relations via electronic contact, characterizing its role with respect to the growth of banking activity. Data estimation and results analysis showed that the use of IT enhances Customer relations with a significant positive relationship for banks and their services. The use of IT has an important impact and clear importance on its role in developing the economic activity of banks. JEL Code: M5. M21, O1.
