Abstract

It is odd that we enter the new millennium with no firm definition of the concept 'translation'. Mundy states that 'the word is notoriously slippery’. From applied linguistics to discourse analysis (DA), translation does not seem to be an established 'science', and we have not reached the point to verify its validity through such concepts as 'equivalence' and 'faitlifulness' that modern translation refutes as in the case of the Skopos theory.
