الملخص
ABSTARCT This study aims at the determination of the relation between the signifier and the signified.It also looks up into the ancient Arab thought in general.In addition, it tries to detect the rivalry between critics in the past as well as making clear the dimensions of the controvercy between the signifier and the signified and its reflection on literature. Noteworthily, this research does not only attempt to show critics' sayings , but it is a serious try to shed light on the most important attitudes taken by those critics and analyzing them.Thus,the subject has setteled on four of them: those arguing for the signifier ,others who put them together, a third party which unite between them and the forth party that sees only the relation between them.
