Résumé

The present article aims at examining the frequency hydronyms use in the denomination of places and spaces, in the west of Algeria. We would like to check whether or not hydronyms reflect the richness in matter of mineral resources and groundwater wich characterize this region. This trial was subscribed in an axis in our research previously tackled in the thesis of doctorate treating the categorization of toponyms in west Algéria, in which we appeal for statistical analysis for leading a quantitative study. The objective of this research is to set up an exact number concerning the number of hydronyms in every town.
